Another Explosion

We had a request for another card that we had to use the Explosion Box design to bring out the vision of the card requested.

When our customer Andrea requested a card to represent Farmville, I was biting my nails but was determined to pull it off. Although I know of Farmville, I am not quite Familiar with the aspects of it so I did my research.

At first I thought I would use pictures from Farmville but that would not have allowed me to play with texture the way I like to, so I decided to create a 3-D form. I wanted to do a 3-D barn and the whole enchilada but I did not have that much time so I decided on the following instead.

Another view: Check out the grass paper and the barn in crackled wood paper.

I don't think there is a scene like that on Farmville but since this is a box card, I thought I'd think outside the box, haha, so I added some laundry pinned with clothespin on a line.. Like it? Then I had to find a unique place to add the sentiments in a place that can be discovered as she opened the card so I placed it in the middle there.

Closing it up and then I added some more sentiments on the lid...

Thank you.

The Card that EXPLODES

It has been a while since we wanted to create something like this but the opportunity did not present itself until last week.

We had a request for a card that will include some photos that had significant memories for the birthday Girl turning 50.

We did not want to do ANOTHER looong card so we decided to create this one. The final keepsake card is a box that when opens, explodes to expose photos, sentiments and a paper three-tier cake with a duct tape ring as the cake topper

Here it is closed with a lid trimmed with the colors of the rainbow as the theme of her party was "Celebrating the Colors of her 50 years of life" The lid also has a lovely paper daisy that we built. :)

Here is one side being revealed.

And another: Here is where you see the three-tier cake being revealed

And more.... Here is where you see the photos and different sentiments layered

More. Here you see the greetings under the cake

We were also asked to design the Invitation for the party

And sometimes it's hard to choose, so who said all the invites had to be the same?
Why not use them both? Variety is the spice of life! Right?

I hope you enjoyed this. Please give us your feedback.
Thank you

The Wining Dad

We here at Jacfred Creation loves making cards for all individuals. The hardest cards are the cards that we make for the men. Last year we did very well with the traditional shirt with tie cards

So we brought them back this year and because we like to do things different each time, we added a few changes to the style

We also added this one to the collection. This card was inspired by the Scratch game that we use on our brochures that customers can scratch off and win savings on their next order. Dads are so used to getting bad wraps, we wanted to make the dads who received this card this year Winners...

Wedding Suite and Post Zelle Bridal Event extract.

So after some real Ironic moments which I prefer to describe as God directed opportunities, I decided to participate in the Zelle Bridal DIY Wedding Workshop on May 20th 2012 in New Castle Delaware.

I was not quite sure what I had to do but I decided to say yes to the opportunity, then figure out the details later. I was faced with other challenges to make this event successful but I exercised hope and faith and I got in.

I said yes to this opportunity only a few weeks away from Mother's day which is a very busy time for me at the studio of

Well with a few late nights, I got all the Mother's day card shipped on time and with just under a week to prepare for a show that I have never participated in of it's kind. So with a few ideas shared with me from a dear friend I decided to put the medal to the pedal.

I was very surprised how compose I were from Sunday the 12th till about Thursday the 16th. I started working on a few designs and everything just flow smoothly. I had a few nervous moments but I am learning to control my mind more and more so I did just that and the rest was history. Here are few few pics of what we had and did at the event.

Our Suites

What we did:

The event turned out well and smooth. The Brides-to-be had lots of fun at our booth learning how to create an invitation and we had lots of fun teaching them.
We met a couple of online friends in person and made new contacts.

Our project for the week among other things is working on some baby shower invitations... Stay tuned. Have a great week.

The Longest Card We Ever Made

We had so much fun with mother's day cards creation this year. Things went the way we planned it and we experienced some growth in marketing. It would have been strange if we did not get a "crazy" last minute order..Yes, my life is meant to be full of excitement which includes rushing to the post office the last minute to get an order in to get to its destination on time. So this order came in April 30th. A card to hold a lot of pictures all on one card. Ok, my "lot" interpretation was about 5-10..lol... She said 20... wheee... Ok I think I could pull this off since I also provide scrapbook services and I already had a design so all I had to do was enter her information and customized it for mom.. Well I thought so until on the 4th when I finally got the pictures and a sweet message... I added some additional ones.. hummm I wonder how many more?.. It was 32 now. Oh my lawdy lawd.. Will I be able to pull this in time?... I am very detailed with my creations as you may have noticed so here I am envisioning all these great ideas for this card but how will I pull it off in time? Well I decided not to stress because keep in mind I have other rush orders and I am trying to reach customers to confirm information but couldn't reach them. I don't like letting people down so I made some decisions. I made the card with what I thought was enough to do this card but something said that I should not put on the cover as I would normally do at this stage. I had a cover in mind and although I tried to think of another, that first idea kept sticking in the front of my mind so I decided that I will go ahead and use that one. So it's Thursday, the day the card should be mailed out and I only have the photos cropped to size, the card lined with the specialty paper. This card has to be finished in time to be packed and shipped out by 3pm. I remained calm. Took everything upstairs and lay out everything the way I would place them on the card. Oh boy I do not have enough space.... Oh well, let's add some more card stock. I WILL make that work... Here we go... Oh Man, I thought I figured that out... I still needed to add more and more... (it was great that I did not add the covers as yet). Finally, I had enough. But now I have to go layer the unfinished card stock with the specialty paper. Well luckily I had cut too much by mistake the first time so that helped eliminated one step.
I lined the spaces, attached the photos and then I remember... There are two more pics...lol, Yes the customer had forgotten to send two more but luckily for me, there were spaces for them so I printed them, sized them and attached them to the card. Now to do the cover.. Bravo...This actually looks better than I had envisioned
We made it in time. We wrapped it nicely, packed it and sipped it off by 2:55pm..Yeah, I DID IT! I never cease to amaze myself... *customer received her package yesterday and remarked "That's the Best card ever" You know I am smiling ears to ears...lol
The difference between ordinary and Extraordinary is "Extra". We take pride in providing the extra
