1st Craft Fair went well

So with little time to prepare and with no experience of being a vendor in this field, I took on the challenge of getting ready for this craft fair.

There were late nights of staying up and working on the holiday cards. There were nights of falling asleep on the job while making those cards

There were early morning risings sneaking out of the warm arms of Dear husband who by the way has been very very very supportive and understanding. There was late nights of body pampering with my brown sugar scrub which I enjoyed and got carried away most times...lol

The day arrived; I woke up early of course, finished some cards that I decided against doing the night before which worked out best since I had more energy. Then I packed and headed out. Got there a little late but not at the point that it hurt business... For a few hours things appeared bleak... Customers were passing through but was definitely holding on to their purses/wallets as tight as possible...

Well I kept a positive attitude and an attitude of Faith and Trust and I knew it would work out one way or another.. And in the end it did... It was successful in quite a few ways.... I did not lose any money and the lessons I learned were pricesless..

Holiday Cards are days away

So it's Tuesday and if the bags under my eyes are not an indication that I have ben putting in a lot of hours towards this business, then I must be still looking good... :) The great thing about it is, I am truly having fun.

The holidays are fast approaching and I am in the process of making cards for my regular and dedicated clients who have given me their orders already plus I am creating some for the website. I am making a few boxed sets that can be given to associates and not so close friends. People like your cleaners, your mail man, your doorman, your hairdresser, your nail technician, the person who everytime you go to the bank or post office tells you to come when there is a long line, your child's bus driver and assistant, your trainer, etc etc :). They should be ready in the next week or so.

I surprised myself

Out of desperation, I got up on Sunday morning with a determination to build my website since I was committed to having it up by the end of this month. After a few searches, I decided to use a program and I went to work. Six hours later, I actually had a storefront up and running. I am still in shock but then again, why am I? I am the type of individual that does not stop at anything. If someone did it before, I can definitely get it done. And even if it was not done before, then I would have to find a way.

There were a few things that did not wok out perfectly so over the last three days, in my spare time, I played around with them and I believe that I have the very basic downpack.

Visit www.jacfredgreetingcards.com and see what I have been up to.
If that does not work The server may be doing maintenance so if you seem to be having trouble, try later

Enjoy and come back soon since I would be making additions . Please give me your honest feedbacks and let me know of any errors that you notice. Thank yo.

Always

West Indian American Day Parade

So after years of not being able to attend J'ouvert, an event that is usually dominated by Grenadians and their Jab JAb jump up for various reasons, I was able to attend this year. I met up with friends late Sunday evening; I watched a video of the Trinidad Soca Monarh of 2009.

A few samples

The birth of Jacfred Creation

Jacfred Creation my home-based business that I started in May 2009. I am the sole owner. At Jacfred Creation, we make beautiful unique, one-of-a-kind greeting cards and invitations for all occasion.
It all started while I was getting ready to make greeting cards for family and friends for mother's day. Although I sarted doing it as a buisness at that time, I have been creating unique hand crafted cards since I was about 8 years old. My Father who I thank for the inspiration did not accept any excuses when it was someone's bithday and I did not give them a card. His answer to my excuse which was normally, "I did not have any money" was "then make one" and that was what I did and never stopped. I would make cards everytime I wanted to give one to a family member or friend. I got many compliments and many suggested I do it as a business... At that time , I was focused on other areas.

Well this year, my husband who is convinced that my creativity is what can give me that break through in life, kept pushing me to sell my art and so I decided to go ahead and do it. It's been said that if you do something that you like, you never have to work a day in your life. Well this is what it is with me and my card business. I truly love making these cards. I love the way I would gather materials together not having anything in mind but when the card is finished, it's an awesoome creation. It's just a great feeling to see what I can transpire on the card stock. I love to see the expressions on my customers' face when they look at the cards.

My site www.jacfredcreation.com will be launched by 10-30-2009. Keep coming back for updated information
